ISO/IEC 80079-34:2018

IISO/IEC 80079-34:2018 - Explosive Atmospheres Part 34: Application of Quality Management Systems for Ex Product manufacture. This standard describes the application of quality systems in the production/manufacture of electrical and non-electrical equipment or protective systems used in explosive atmospheres, termed as Ex Equipment. The standard follows the format of ISO 9001:2015 with additional quality system requirements for Hazardous Areas equipment manufacturing.

 

EN ISO/IEC 80079-34:2020

EN ISO/IEC 80079-34:2020 is the European version of the standard. This version of the standard is identical to the ISO/IEC 80079-34:2018 but differs as it includes reference to (Annex ZA) Normative references to publications, and (Annex ZB) Information relevant to equipment and protective systems according to standards harmonized under Directive 2014/34/EU.

 

Draft International Standard ISO/IEC DIS 80079-34

Voting on the Draft International Standard ISO/IEC DIS 80079-34 ended on 19th September 2025. At the time of writing the is no publishing date. The changes will include added definitions, the removal of some term?s that had significant overlap to others, the clarification of some existing clauses and the overhaul of external provider selection and control..
